Coverage does not stop at a boundary line. If you are just outside it, the ZIP on your request is what decides who gets it.
Behind it: the marine layer keeping the north slope damp. Slopes that never get direct sun stay wet for hours after the fog burns off, and that is where moss, lifted shingles and soft decking start.
Most asked for around here: storm damage repair
The first hour after a storm is about stopping water, not about getting the best price. Those are two separate jobs and they happen in that order.
Questions
What if the decking is rotten underneath?
Some of it usually is. The important thing is that the price per sheet is agreed in writing before the tear-off, so the conversation on day two is about quantity rather than rate.
Should I take the cheapest quote?
Only if it is the same roof. Most large gaps between quotes are scope gaps. Ask the cheapest contractor which of the other quotes items they have left out, and why.
Are you a roofing company?
No. Silverline Roofing & Exteriors is a free matching service. We do not hold a roofing licence, we do not employ crews, and we never come to your house. We pass your request to independent local contractors who do the work and who you hire directly.
